This week we published the latest in our Thoughts On series, focusing on Brent Atchley’s Elementality part. Read the preview below and become a Paid Subscriber to get the full article along with everything else!
The intro sets us up with Brent rolling down his driveway, ollie-ing up a kerb on a bridge, taking a patented frontside ollie to one of Burnside’s pillars ending with a Ray Barbee-esque no comply revert to close it out. This low-key introduction serves to set the viewers expectation of the part.
The first line in the part reflects the introduction, a chilled line around the wavey edges of an Oregonian park, beginning with one of Brent’s signature 360 flips over a bump, adding a couple of crack 180s over a jump box (everyone was began copying those after this part came out…), before he rolls into the main section of the park adding a few more traditional park tricks into it, a high speed frontside tailslide then a backside 360 over a trannied hip.
