We’ve been a fan of Chris Cope for years now, and this part doesn’t disappoint!
The ditch tunnel intro is really cool, mixing in a head torch, frontside flips, Dead Dave-style early grab, and a long tailslide transfer, as well as an ollie out to wallride at the end of the tunnel. There’s some great ditch footage scattered throughout the part including an incredible corner drop down boardslide, and a frontside boardslide transfer into another tunnel ditch…
Early on in the part we see a more technical side to Chris’ skating that hasn’t really been shown before - the Nollie backside flip blunt spine transfer followed by the Nollie 270 pivot 270, as well as the noseblunt nollie flip later in the part - all at WSVT, all pleasant surprises!
The pool footage is pretty incomparable to most, he must have one of the fastest / most hectic pool carves in the world, along with a variety of tricks including inverts, ollies to pivot, layback boardslides, switch carve grinds and more. A pretty low-key clip sees Chris perform an impeccable alley-oop Eggplant around a pool corner.
As he localises Washington Street, you’d expect some of the best footage to be in there, and it certainly is! A couple of incredibly gnarly tricks throughout the part, including a tailblockslide on the oververt, looped alley-oop indy disaster out of the vert wall into onto the overflow, an invert to sugarcane on the platform quarter, fakie 5-0 over the funbox quarter and a load more…
